Business Update: COVID-19

Martin Sandhu
March 2020

We’re monitoring the latest news about COVID-19 throughout the UK and have been closely following the government guidance. For the protection of our staff and their families, all staff will be working remotely for the foreseeable future.

How do I get in touch with your team?

As a client, you will still be able to contact your team on slack, we will ensure that open and efficient lines of communication are maintained to allow the continued operation of the business.

Your project manager will continue to update you on your project progress, and highlight any impacts on the project such as employee illness.

All client meetings will now be held on google hangouts, which may change the nature of our workshops. However, we are confident we can get the same results working remotely.

If you are interested in our services or would like to get in contact with us for the first time, please email hello@nuom.co.uk and we will set up a call with you on the same day.

Please email us to get in contact as we are unable to take any calls in our Nottingham office. However, we promise to set up a call with you the same day.

What will change?

Due to the nature of our work, and previous policies in place, we are extremely fortunate that this will not drastically affect our business or any client work. The following precautions have been added to our daily routine to ensure there is no disruption to client projects:

  • Devices and necessary equipment has been distributed to all employees to ensure their work can be completed to the same standard as office working
  • Our working from home policy has been updated to ensure collaborative project meetings can still take place via video call
  • All client and internal meetings will take place via video or voice calls

What precautions are your staff taking?

Due to a potential case of COVID-19 affecting one of our employees, we have advised all staff to work from home for the next two weeks and given the following guidance:

The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of a new continuous cough and/or high temperature. If you have these symptoms, however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for 7 days from when your symptoms started. If you share a house, all members of the household should isolate for 14 days. You do not need to call NHS 111 to go into self-isolation. If your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better after 7 days, contact NHS 111 online. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.

  1. Wash your hands more often than usual, for 20 seconds using soap and hot water, particularly after coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose, or after being in public areas where other people are doing so. Use hand sanitiser if that’s all you have access to.
  2. To reduce the spread of germs when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, or your sleeve (not your hands) if you don’t have a tissue, and throw the tissue away immediately. Then wash your hands or use a hand sanitising gel.
  3. Clean and disinfect regularly touched objects and surfaces using your regular cleaning products to reduce the risk of passing the infection on to other people.

This update is being monitored daily. [Last update: 9.43pm 18th March 2020]
